MySQL database support for ConnectWise Automate

On-premise ConnectWise Automate runs on a MySQL database, and most Automate performance problems start there. TechPIO engineers tune, maintain and back up the Automate database so the control centre stays fast and the data stays safe.

About the platform

What is MySQL and how we use it

MySQL is an open-source relational database management system, developed by Oracle, that is widely used behind web applications and business software. On-premise ConnectWise Automate servers store their configuration, monitoring and agent data in a MySQL database.

TechPIO looks after MySQL as part of ConnectWise Automate consulting: database health checks and performance tuning, table maintenance and clean-up of oversized tables, backup and restore procedures for the Automate server, and migration of the database during server moves or upgrades.

What we do

How we support MySQL for MSPs

Hand over one task or the whole platform. Every change is made inside your instance, with your permissions, and documented in your systems.

Health checks and performance tuning

Slow queries, configuration, indexing and table sizes reviewed so the Automate control centre and web interface stay responsive.

Maintenance and clean-up

Scheduled maintenance, purging of oversized monitoring and history tables and data-retention settings aligned to your needs.

Backup and recovery

Automate database backups set up, monitored and restore-tested so an Automate server can be rebuilt with confidence.

Server moves and upgrades

MySQL migration as part of Automate server migrations, version upgrades and hardware refreshes.

It is where most of our MySQL work happens, because on-premise Automate depends on it. We also look after MySQL behind other on-premise tools as part of project work.

Usually yes. Most slowness traces back to the database: oversized tables, missing maintenance or configuration. We review, tune and document the fix.

Yes. We set up and monitor database backups and run restore tests as part of Automate administration.
